What are your research interests?

International Alert’s work on serious and organised crimes seeks to unpack the complexities of illicit traffics and economies and how these relate to power dynamics, peace and conflict in a number of different context. The underlying rationale is that pure security approaches to organised crime bear limited results and that peace building approaches could instead help to underpin a new generation of responses to prevent violence and strengthen development opportunities.

What is your offer?

International Alert has been active in a number of countries like Mali, Pakistan, Philippines to raise awareness and understanding on how serious and organised crime contribute to instability and fragility. International Alert can offer unique expertise in peace-building and conflict analysis that will bring a practitioner perspective in addition to the substantive knowledge.
