What are your research interests?

Our research interests lie in the analysis of trends and flows in darknet markets and their use in a variety of online illegal trades. We have specifically worked with the illegal wildlife trade, as part of the ongoing Oxford Martin Programme on the Illegal Wildlife Trade; and on the economic geography of the darknet as related to supply chains in the drug trade.

What is your offer?

We have research expertise in analysis of online criminal trades, both in the darknet and in social media. We have existing data sources from large-scale scraping of darknet drug markets, and data related to the illegal wildlife trade.

Who would you like to collaborate with?

We would like to collaborate with any research partners interested in studying the dynamics of online illegal trades. We have a particular interest in the illegal wildlife trade, but are happy for that to be part of a larger project, or not included if not relevant. Academic partnerships are of interest, but we would be very keen to collaborate with partners who have data or access to platforms that require analysis: law enforcement, industry, telecommunications operators.
