JSaRC Academic Engagement Opportunity
We are pleased to announce the Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC) is looking to source and appoint a service provision partner in the field of Academia. JSaRC require a range of liaison and promotion services connected with academic developments in the field of security, counter-terrorism and domestic extremism.
Reason for the Requirement
The UK academic community offers wide ranging expertise across the whole national security challenge spectrum. Capability within the physical, biological, engineering and social sciences and the humanities covers specific threats and vulnerabilities, including work to counter: terrorism and its financing; serious and organised crime; cybercrime; money laundering; child sex exploitation; modern slavery; autonomous vehicle use; violent extremism and CBRN incidents. In addition, expertise and innovation relating to drug detection, immigration controls, evidential standard forensics and secure distributed ledger are also available.
This expertise can provide innovative solutions against current threats, foresight against upcoming threats (horizon scanning) and critical (unbiased) reviews of current technological solutions. However, awareness and connection between government requirements and academic capability are frequently lacking. Therefore, the development of different and appropriate communication channels is required.
