Secondment Job Vacancies at the Department for International Trade

The Defence & Security Organisation (DSO) within the Department for International Trade (DIT) has specific responsibility for assisting British defence and security companies export their products and services overseas.

DSO are now looking to revise the 2014 Security Exports Strategy to strengthen and increase the UK security offer, and are looking for two industry secondees to assist with this work. The secondees are required for a minimum of 6 months with all costs to be met by the seconding organisation.

DSO Job Specification for Security Industry Secondees – 2017

It is anticipated that the roles will require close liaison with colleagues across DSO including desk officers, overseas posts, and the Cyber Security team who are currently revising the cyber security export strategy. Close engagement will also be required with the Home Office, Cabinet Office and other Government departments as well as wider industry stakeholders.

This provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain exposure and experience of operating at the heart of Government in support of the growth of the UK security sector.
