Vacancies at the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA)

The Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) is recruiting for three key roles: x2 Operations Leads (based in Dstl Porton Down & London) and x1 Innovation Partner (based in London). DASA brings together private sector, academics and government to develop innovative solutions to defence and security challenges, and to support the exploitation of innovative solutions. 

About the Roles:

Operations Lead:

The DASA Operations Leads will work closely together as a partnership across two sites (Imperial White City, London and Porton Down, Salisbury) to manage a flexible team resource of up to 20 people. Together, they will form and deliver a programme of the core services provided by the DASA to their defence and security customers, primarily the Open Call for Innovation, Themed Competitions, and develop a range of additional services such as hackathons, sandpits, and workshops. Successful candidates will be required to develop a Forward Work Programme as well as being able to respond to new requirements and deliver a new DASA Incubator Programme, providing grants, access to collaboration spaces, and support such as mentoring to start-ups with ideas useful for defence and security, including fair application and assessment processes. Innovation Partner:

The Innovation Partners are key roles within the DASA. Together, they are our outreach function, responsible for building and maintaining the external relationships with key stakeholders across defence and security industries, SMEs, academia, the Third Sector, and extend their reach to those who have not previously worked with defence or security. The role of the Innovation Partner is to proactively seek out new opportunities, promote the DASA across their external networks, link into existing networks as well as building our own, and act as a resource of expertise and market intelligence to help Government understand and link in to useful suppliers and partners. Job Details:

Salary: Circa £48,000 – £62,000 DoE
Grade: 6, Dstl Level 7
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time
Hours: 37
