Energy 2016: Risk, Resilience and Cyber Security of Global Supplies

This one-day event, taking place as a part of the International Festival for Business 2016, will feature thought-provoking presentations and discussions addressing the long term strategy for energy security and resilience internationally.

Attendees will discuss and debate:

• The security of supply across the energy supply chain
• How the energy mix is changing now and how to manage now and in the future
• Preparing for possible energy gaps
• The timescales, technologies and trends for nuclear power plant deployment
• The need for investment and what happens after government incentives end
• The threat to infrastructure and how the industry is enhancing cyber resilience

Suleman Alli, Director of Strategy and Regulation (UK Power Networks) will deliver the opening keynote address at the event. This will be followed by Julian Leslie, Head of Electricity Network Development (National Grid) presenting a unique insight into System Operation Experiences and Innovation.

With global energy markets going through a significant period of change, two of the leading industry figures within the UK energy industry will be presenting their thoughts and strategies to help global energy stakeholders prepare for the future. View the programme on their website.

Attendees will then have the opportunity to hear a US and UK on “Enhancing Cyber Resilience and Working with the Oil and Gas Sectors” from Tom Baer, Deputy Director, National Cyber Security and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC) at the US Department of Homeland Security and Peter Yapp, Deputy Director Operations at CERT-UK (Cabinet Office).

Continuing the global energy theme, the afternoon session will be led by Samuele Furfari, Advisor to the Director General for Energy, European Commission, discussing the policies ensuring Security of Supply at the Core of the Energy Union
