The Fourth Annual School of International Futures Retreat

The Fourth Annual School of International Futures Retreat

The School of International Futures flagship retreat returns to the UK for its fourth successive year, from 10-14 August 2015.

Attendance will give key insights into how to plan for and respond to future challenges and opportunities in an increasingly complex and uncertain world.

The Summer retreat will explore the implications of future trends and shocks for today’s policy choices, and help gain an understanding in how to use foresight methods and processes to shape the future of organisations and to make a difference in the world. In addition to a grounding in the foresight approach and tips on how to build future-facing capability of organisations, insights will also be gained into the future of technology, resources, the economy and geopolitics.

This year, as part of their focus on Strategic Foresight, they’ll be exploring the concept of a “ring of instability” around Europe, created by geopolitical, security and religious tensions running through Eastern Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East.

Noah Raford joins as their guest faculty and confirmed speakers include Rosemarie Forsythe, former Director, International Political Strategy at Exxon Mobil, and Mathew Burrows, Director of the Atlantic Council’s Strategic Foresight Initiative and Tomas Ries, Senior Lecturer, Swedish National Defence College.
