Getting Religion – Challenging Religious Illiteracy in a Time of Global Uncertainty

Getting Religion – Challenging Religious Illiteracy in a Time of Global Uncertainty

12.00 – 4.00pm, Tuesday 06, January 2015

The Getting Religion seminar was hosted by Open University and Lapido Media. It was the final event in a consultation funded by the Partnership entitled ‘Religion, Martyrdom and Global Uncertainties’, which examined the role of religion in current conflicts and violence. The seminar included the public launch of the final report and recommendations, which are available to download under Related Files below.

Reductionist discourse plagues any attempt to improve national and international security.  The seminar explored how we might improve the conversation about the potential for religion to both improve and destroy security and what the media should do.

Professor John Wolffe’s keynote address from the event is now available to watch in the Video Gallery.

Highlights from the event are also available to watch on the Lapido Media website.
