Airports and Aviation Security | Mission to Mexico

7-11 November 2016 | Mexico City

The Department for International Trade in Mexico (DIT Mexico) –in partnership with DIT DSO and ADS– will organise an airports security/aviation security visit and display of a dedicated showroom in Mexico City that offers a unique opportunity for UK companies with experience on airport security/aviation security to demonstrate and present their capabilities to key Mexican stakeholders and decision-makers –featuring those involved in the new Mexico City International Airport—and relevant Federal and State level Authorities with critical national infrastructure protection responsibilities.

Background

· Officially announced in September 2014, the new Mexico City International Airport represents the largest infrastructure project in the country, worth  $3 billion USD. On 8 July 2015, the Mexican government announced the launch of 21 tender packages for the new airport with an estimated net cost of USD $6 billion.
· Current and future tenders include: Main infrastructure works, which started in early 2016, such as tenders for the supervision of construction works, runway works, construction of the main terminal building and control tower as well as a “security package” divided in 3 main stages, pre tender (RFI) planned release date January 2017.

Tuesday, November 8th
Airport security/aviation security Showroom and short workshops with visits from:
• GACM, Parsons, NACO, Grupo Tasana/Sacmag, Arup, Fernando Romero/Foster & Partners
• Federal Police
• Federal Protection Service
• Transport and Communications Ministry (SCT)
• Other relevant airports groups such as OMA, GAP

Wednesday, November 9th

• Mexican Construction companies participating in the bid for the construction of the terminal

• Various State Police Forces
• Attorney General’s Office
• PEMEX (State owned oil & gas company), CFE (Energy Commission)
Thursday, November 10th
• Participation in the 2nd Annual Latin America Airport Expansion Summit; possible speaking panel on airport security/aviation security for the UK delegation
• Networking reception at the summit ( In partnership with Airports/Infrastructure Mission) or Visit to CanCun Airport (Best run airport in Mexico and LatAm) for presentations on UK airports security/aviation security capabilities
Friday, November 11th
• Continue participation in Airports Summit
• Wash-up session/End of mission ( In partnership with Airports/Infrastructure Mission) Or Visit to CanCun Airport (Best run airport in Mexico and LatAm) for presentations on UK airports security/aviation security capabilities
