Which call are you planning to apply for?

Transnational Organised Crime 2018

What are your research interests?

Cultural criminology; transnational organised crime; crime and popular culture, music and dance; state crime

What is your offer?

I would like to collaborate with groups exploring the role of culture in human trafficking, and/or other forms of TOC. I am particularly interested in following up my previous research on the influence of music and the semiotics of sound in representations of traffickers and victims and the articulation/ reception of their voices. How language and popular cultural genres are used by victims and traffickers to formulate and express their identities and experiences, and how these are received and interpreted by police and other agents, is of interest to me.

Who would you like to collaborate with?
