New Report: What We Know About Piracy

New Report: What We Know About Piracy

Transnational organised crime at sea has emerged as a significant concern for security actors and law enforcement. To study this phenomenon, PaCCS supports a research project, Transnational Organised Crime at Sea: New Evidence, for Better Responses (TOCAS), which is part of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Transnational organised crime: Deepening and broadening our understanding 2018 Call. Projects which are part of this call began in January 2019 and explore issues including crime at sea, human trafficking, cyber-crime, crime in Africa and the overlap between crime and extremism.

Earlier this week, the first data report from TOCAS was released. The report is a collaboration between SafeSeas (TOCAS) and the Stable Seas programme, and focuses on what we know about piracy.
